Royal Society of Chemistry Chemists' Community Fund Applicant
Agreement
From everyday challenges to exceptional circumstances, the
Chemists' Community Fund (CCF) has been here for every member and
their family for over 100 years. We can offer:
- Support and guidance
- Financial assistance with living costs and one-off expenses
- Access to wellbeing support, counselling, and legal
advice
- Telephone befriending
- Wellbeing and financial education webinars
When you come to us for support you should know what to expect
from us, and what we will expect from you - we are here to help.
We will:
- Assign you a named caseworker who will be your main point of
contact at the CCF.
- Support you through the application process, and only ask for
information that is necessary to assess your application.
- Treat all information you share with us confidentially unless
we have your explicit permission to share it, or if we believe
you or someone else is at risk of harm.
- Refer you to trusted services with your agreement, and
signpost you to other sources of help, if we believe you can
benefit from further specialist advice and support.
- If it could help you through the application process, and if
possible, offer you a visit from a case worker or support from a
CCF Volunteer.
- If necessary, arrange for a specialist, for example an
occupational therapist, to visit you to fully understand how we
can help.
- Ensure that your financial application is considered by the
CCF Panel within one month of receiving all the information we
require, though it may sometimes be necessary to get additional
approval from the CCF Committee. We will keep you informed
throughout the process.
- Let you know the outcome of your application in writing, as
soon as possible after a decision in made.
- Act with professionalism, respond to communications in a
timely manner and treat all applicants with respect.
We ask that you:
- Take care when completing the application form, making sure
that the information provided is accurate and up to date. If you
provide false or misleading information we may withdraw support.
- Provide us with all the information we are asking for;
remember we will only ask for information that is necessary to
assess your application. If you don't share information relevant
to our assessment we may withdraw support.
- Don't delay provide the information we ask for; we can only
make a decision once we have all information to hand.
- Let us know as soon as possible if your situation changes.
- Treat all CCF staff, volunteers, and representatives with
respect; we will withdraw our support if an applicant's
behaviour is perceived as disrespectful.
All members of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and other eligible
applicants, are expected to adhere to our membership regulations

Good to know:
Applications for financial assistance are considered by the CCF
Panel or Committee.
Each application is considered carefully and objectively, on its
merits, in accordance with our Charitable Trust Deed and
supporting eligibility criteria.
We have a requirement to make sure that applicants are
accessing any state benefits they are entitled to before we can
offer financial support. We adjust level of support in line with
the cost of living in the applicant's country of residence.
The CCF is not obligated to meet requests or requirements from
applicants, however genuine the need; any support, and the level
of support, is discretionary. Submitting an application form
does not guarantee that support will be awarded.
